Spring Wreath

Since it was such a beautiful sunny day, this evening I wanted to make a spring wreath. Maybe spring will come more quickly now! Last week I went to the Snohomish senior center thrift store with my mom, Nana and auntie. I found a grapevine wreath, brand new with a tag on it for .50 cents! I had some leftover moss from my Christmas topiary, so I used that. Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and got flower branches which were half off and only cost me $5.42.
Here's the branches with little purple and white flowers

The  .50 wreath!

Today I started putting it together. First I hot glued the moss to the grapevine wreath:

Next I cut apart the flower stems into smaller bunches and a few long bunches.

Then I started hot gluing the flower stems to the wreath and wiggling it under the moss and under the wreath.

Almost finished!

Last I glued on a small bird's nest. Here's the finished product hanging on our door. Brad says I should add some purple ribbon and tie a bow to hang it at the top. What do you think?

  1. Love the way it turned out, Lisa. Brad's ideas sound good to me.
